Prophylaxis and Prevention

Every girl who has reached the age of 18 should definitely have a check-up with a gynecologist once a year, even if she has not started having sex. After starting having sex, regardless of age, you should definitely have a check-up with a gynecologist every six months, i.e. twice a year.

Even without any complaints, a gynecological disease can occur: a uterine or ovarian tumor, precancerous or cancerous cervical disease, or a breast tumor. Only regular gynecological health check-ups will allow you to enjoy life and maintain your health.

If you apply for an annual or semi-annual gynecological health check-up, the following tests will be performed on you:

Gynecological examination and examination
Breast examination
Gynecological transvaginal/transrectal ultrasound
Videocolposcopy (cervical examination)
Vaginal smear for microflora and infection
Oncocytological smear
General urine test
Chlamydia test

What tests are performed on girls who have not started sexual life? (See also Section: Pediatric and adolescent gynecology) General examination, weight, blood pressure. Mammary glands are examined, self-examination is taught.

The abdomen and genitals are examined, assessing the type of hairiness, anatomical correspondence, and characteristics of the hymen. A discharge smear is taken. Depending on the characteristics of the hymen, a small speculum can be inserted into the vagina to assess the condition of the cervix and perform a colposcopy. The uterus and ovaries can be examined using an ultrasound examination through the rectum or through the abdominal wall. During this examination, congenital cysts or other formations in the ovaries or uterus can be detected, the structure of the ovaries and uterus can be assessed, and whether it is normal.
